Kevin P. Lane – Founder, Managing Partner and Director of Quantitative Research

Kevin Lane developed the underlying intellectual property and quantitative metrics for Fusion IQ over the course of the last 15 years. Driven by this need to more intelligently screen and analyze stocks Fusion IQ was born. The system a fusing of technical and fundamental variables was developed to remove subjective decision making with a more sound, tested and objective approach. Fusion IQ backs this objectivity, by harnessing technology and advanced mathematics to deliver a more consistent approach to stock selection and portfolio management.

A long-standing member of the Market Technicians Association (MTA), Kevin has received numerous media accolades for his unique and savvy market observations. In fact in 2002, Business Week magazine in their expose entitled, “ Analysts who get it ” named Kevin to their “A-Team,” citing him as one of the top independent analysts in the country. His buy side clientele consists of many of the nation’s top money managers and hedge fund managers.

He is a frequent contributor to major media such as: Barron’s, CNBC, Bloomberg TV, Fox and the USA Today to name a few. Additionally he has been hired as a technical trading consultant to many top trading desks, most notably UBS.

He earned a B.S. in Business Management from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh.

Michael J. Conte – Founder and Managing Partner

Michael J. Conte was a Vice President of Investments for the Private Client Group’s of Smith Barney and Morgan Stanley for many years, prior to founding Fusion IQ and Fusion Analytics Investment Partners LLC. His expertise was developing and deploying quantitative portfolio strategies for high net worth individuals and family office. During his tenures at the aforementioned firms Mr. Conte oversaw a sizeable asset base of privately managed portfolios for high net worth individuals.

Mr. Conte earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Delaware.

Barry L. Ritholtz – CEO, Director of Equity Research

A frequent commentator on CNBC, Barry Ritholtz is a weekly guest on Kudlow & Company. He has guest-hosted Squawk Box on numerous occasions, and also appears regularly on Bloomberg, Fox, and PBS. Mr. Ritholtz was profiled in the Wall Street Journal’s Quite Contrary column (August 3, 2004; Page C3). His market perspectives are quoted regularly in the Wall Street Journal, Barron's, Forbes, Fortunes, and other print media. He is deeply honored to be the dedicatee of The 2007 Stock Trader's Almanac's 40th Anniversary edition.

Mr. Ritholtz performed his graduate studies at Yeshiva University's Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York, where he focused on Economics, Anti-Trust and Corporate Law. He was a member of the Law Review, and graduated Cum Laude. His undergraduate work was at Stony Brook University, where on a Regents Scholarship, he focused on Mathematics and Physics, graduating with an Associates degree in Political Science.

Joseph D. FitzGerald – Director of Marketing

Joseph D. FitzGerald has worked in various capacities in the securities industry over the last 15 years. His broad based experience in both the high net worth, private client group of several broker dealers as well as institutional sales gives him a rare insight into the needs of both small and large investors alike. This knowledge has been instrumental in helping tailor Fusion IQ’s products to both markets. He heads up all marketing and strategic alliance development for Fusion IQ as well as it media, print and web-based campaigns.

Mr. FitzGerald earned a B.S. in Finance from Marist College.
